The Manhattan-born star, who plays an exotic dancer in the upcoming project, relates the story of strippers turning the tables on their wealthy clients after the financial crisis of the late 2000s.
In a recent chat with her co-stars and “Entertainment Tonight” in Los Angeles on Sunday, the triple-platinum recording artist shared that her recent cosmetic surgery threw a wrench into her plans of working the stripper pole.
“You know what? I was really mad because let me tell you something – when I did the movie, I just got my t—–s done and I got lipo, right? So I was like, ‘This is my moment to shine, and I can’t shine because I can’t climb! So I was mad. I was like, ‘God damn it!’” – Cardi said.
The 26-year-old rapper vowed in June never to undergo any surgery again, after experiencing complications from liposuction, which caused her ankles to swell every time she flies on a plane.

Her new movie, Hustlers is set to hit cinemas next month, starring Constance Wu, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Jennifer Lopez and Lizzo. The new project is inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler that went viral, about former strip club employees who ganged together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.
