Ten years and three months ago, The Los Angeles Angels lost Nick Adenhart to death and now, the organization is in mourning after their left-handed pitcher, Tyler Skaggs was found dead at the team hotel in Texas.
Tyler Skaggs’ death makes him the second active pitcher with the Angels that the organization has lost in the last ten years and it hasn’t done anything to reduce the pain. As a matter of fact, fans and relatives have not gotten over the loss of Nick Adenhart yet and then this happened.
Speaking about the loss of Nick earlier this year, his stepfather, Duane Gigeous said: “There is something to be seen through grief. It’s been 10 years since we have been able to talk to him. A lot of individual days go by, but the pain still makes it feel like it was just yesterday. Ten years is a weird thing. He’d be 32 … that’s unfathomable.”
The club did not state the cause of death or what happened and the police have ruled out suicide or foul play but matches scheduled to be played have been postponed. The Angels were originally expected to face the Rangers but will now have to wait for the mourning period to end as a lot of those expected to play knew the late Skaggs.
Eventually though, they would have to put the pain aside and play because as hard as loss and pain are, the organization still runs a business and it’s designed to make profit, but fans and teammates will carry him in their hearts and he won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
