With Naira Marley‘s song “Soapy” already a hit and sitting at No. 1 on the Apple Music chart in Nigeria, there is certainly reason to celebrate in Naira Marley‘s camp, but the songster is somewhat irritated right now, as the Nigerian artiste Chief Ogbonnaya has accused him of stealing the song from him and his crew.
Chief Ogbonnaya claims his song was released 1 June 2019, and the dance for the song, which he called “flop flop,” was released 8 days later, on 9 June. In a video share on Instagram, Chief Ogbonnaya claimed he sent Naira Marley the song when the later was in prison.
He also claimed Naira Marley saw the dance and rebranded it into Yoruba. He is adamant Naira Marley is bereft of creativity and lacked the brain to birth something as creative. He ended up accusing Naira Marley of stealing his glory, as everyone is now praising Naira Marley now over the dance.
However, in a swift response, Naira Marley dismissed the claims he stole the song from anyone. He swore, in Yoruba, on his life, his wife’s, his children’s and his mother’s that he never met his accusers. He insisted even before he went public with the “Soapy” dance he had been performing in EFCC cell.
“I don’t even know you,” he said of his accusers. He then asked fans to check dates to verify his claims
By the way, days ago, celebrated dancer Kaffy dismissed “Soapy” dance as “disgusting” and unfit for the public.
