The relationship between singers Adekunle Gold and Simi runs deep and it has been the talk of town. In their music and in everything else, they support each other with untiring devotion.

So when a lady tried to shade Adekunle Gold three days ago on Twitter, Simi was right on the thread to shut the lady up.

It all began when Adekunle Gold took to Twitter to ask fans to make his latest song “Kelegbe Megbe (Know Your Level)” popular if they love it and think it is a jam.

Simi was on the thread and asked for the link to share the new song.

Most fans responds positively to the post. Some said Adekunle Gold is already blessed by God. Others called the song great, stating they are rocking the song at their locations.

But there was a contrarian in the list of respondents, a lady who goes by the handle @MhizzAssy. According to her, Adekunle Gold is a celebrity and should make the song popular himself.

Adekunle Gold probably didn’t see this coming. But then Simi was following the thread and dismissed the lady in a four-word repartee, a question: “Did they force you?” That shut the lady up.

Simi and Adekunle have been thought by some as Nigeria’s eccentric celebrity couple: they don’t show off, they don’t but things they don’t need to please anyone, and although Simi has been criticized for wearing Adekunle Gold‘s clothes, she doesn’t really care.

She and Adekunle Gold are living life on their own terms. It isn’t surprising they got married in secret earlier this year.
