US singer, Usher has appealed to a judge to seal his medical records in the lawsuit brought against him by two women and a man that he gave them herpes.
The singer has denied it but the accusers are trying to get him to make his medical records public which apparently the singer has no intention of doing and has urged the court to seal his medical record to prevent it from being made public.
According to the appeal filed before the judge, Usher said: “There is no gray area that allows for the revelation of some of Jane Doe’s personal information without compromising her privacy rights. Any public exposure of her private information could result in significant harm to Jane Doe.”
Two years ago, the first accuser, Laura Helm filed a suit against the singer, saying she contracted herpes from him after they had unprotected sex twice but Usher has denied it.
The two parties later reached an agreement outside court but that has not stopped more accusations from coming in but the he does not look like he will agree to any of them or even willing to reach any settlement as he has asked the court not to make his medical records public.
Usher does not just want his medical records kept secret though, he wants that of his latest accuser kept secret too. He does not see any reason why her medical records or his should be public and he will be hoping the judge agrees too.
The judge is yet to rule on that but when that happens, you’ll hear it here first.
