by John Anusie

The cats are here. But don’t run just yet. These ones are not here to claw anyone to death. They are here to give you a good time glued to the big screen. Okay, let’s hop.

The first trailer for the flick “Cats” has just been released, with the second following after. Released earlier this week, the first trailer takes us through the feline world of Idris Elba, Taylor Swift and James Corden – all three are playing cats in the flick.

Jennifer Hudson and Taylor Swift are not to be missed in their feline glory as well.

The technology that enabled the production crew alter the form of the actors and make them look like the real thing has been described as digital fur technology.

By the way “Cats” the flick is said to be based on Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s stage adaptation of the novelist and poet Thomas Stearns Eliot‘s “Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.” The book was published in 1939.

With the trailers out, anticipation has risen accordingly. But “Cats” the movie isn’t dropping tomorrow. Directed by Tom Hooper, the movie has got a December 20 release date.

For those impatient to see the movie, y’all may have to binge on the trailers so far released until the real thing drops. That way it may not feel like you’re doing time. The cats will surely be here. This time, fortunately, you’re assured of a far longer encounter with them.

Keep the fever of expectancy alive. It bears repeating: The cats are coming.
