Burna Boy has shared the tracklist for his album “African Giant,” slated for release tomorrow Friday July 26. The tracklist drops exactly two days to the album’s release.
“I’ll just leave this here,” Burna Boy had written, sharing the album’s tracklist on his Instagram page. The tracklist was expected much earlier, so its release two days ago, although late, elicited massive purrs of pleasure.
The tracklist encapsulates both old and new tracks. For instance, track 2 “Anybody,” track 4 “Dangote” and track 6 “Killin Dem” had been released earlier. Here, I’ve only mentioned a few previously released tracks.
The album has guests – you may say features – in the persons of Jorja Smith, Zlatan, Jeremih, Serani, M.anifest, Damian Marley, Angelique Kidjo, Future and YG.
“African Giant” the album spots 19 tracks, beginning with the eponymous “African Giant” and ending with “Spiritual.” Ambitious is the word for this album, which has caught Burna Boy, and indeed Nigerians, in a wave of excitement.
The excitement is backed, of course, by Burna Boy’s sterling performance on “Ja Ara E,” one of the tracks in Beyonce’s “Lion King: The Gift” album. Apparently Burna Boy is moving from one win to another.
The album has got a July 26 release date, as stated at the outset, but in all probability the album will drop before midnight today July 25. You watch and see. In the interim why not help yourself to “Pull Up,” track 11 in the imminent album?
Looking forward to the album tomorrow? What are your thoughts on the tracklist? You may drop your thoughts in the comment section below.
