Vince Staples teaches kids how to sell candy in a funny trailer announcing his new project ‘The Vince Staples Show‘.
The rapper shared a clip which opened with his detached voice noting,
You already know the deal — we’re not doing too much talking. I ain’t got time for no cold feet … Both of y’all signed up for this.”
Cutting to the inside of his car, two kids were seen grabbing boxes of snacks and walking up to a supermarket to clumsily pitch their product.
The teaser doesn’t reveal hat the “all-new original series” will arrive on Thursday, August 22nd.
Born, Vincent Jamal Staples, the singer is a member of the hip hop trio Cutthroat Boyz, including fellow Californian rappers Aston Matthews and Joey Fatts. Staples was once a close associate of Odd Future, in particular, Mike G and Earl Sweatshirt. He rose to prominence with appearances on albums by Odd Future members and his collaborative mixtape titled Stolen Youth with Mac Miller, who produced the project.
Staples, who signed to Motown Records’ Blacksmith Recordings label in early August, has released five titles for Def Jam: the 2014 EP Hell Can Wait, 2015 LP Summertime ’06, 2016 EP Prima Donna, 2017 record Big Fish Theory and 2018 LP FM!, which was later named the fifth-best album of that year.
Recently, he appeared on Common’s single “Hercules,” and also made the announcement for the arrival of his new music, at the August 7th meeting for Capitol Music Group. Stating that the song would be coming in “a week, two weeks”. Watch video below:
