Young Thug has shared an advice J. Cole gave him concerning his music.
Young Thug may be known for his feuds with a few artists but the American rapper has a very soft spot for the few people who truly see the real him, especially J. Cole. Both rappers showcased their artistic collaboration on Thugger‘s recently released debut album, So Much Fun and it was laudable.
In a recent interview with Big Boy, the rapper spoke about his friendship with Cole and how it came about.
“Through the grapevine, I had heard he liked my music. So we ended up going on tour. We was with each other every day. He’s one of those guys who don’t want to rub anybody the wrong way. He won’t be around. The first week of the tour, he would go on the stage and go straight home. He had his kid and his wife with him. It’s a very very very very very important learning experience. He’s the biggest artist, this is his concert, but he still open up – that shit just calmed me down, like ‘you ain’t too much of a superstar, come down. He got more money than you!‘”
Young Thug and J. Cole have both toured together, and recently, J. Cole executive produced the rapper’s debut album, So Much Fun. He also appeared as a featured artist alongside Travis Scott on the song, The London. Their relationship seems quite admirable and very rare in the hip hop world and we love the benefits that come from it; great music. Watch below:
