The third season of Drake‘s beloved Netflix UK series, Top Boy premieres today, Sept. 13th and already a full soundtrack has been released for it. The new project fronts artists from the UK and also some OVO Sound artists. And yes, there’s a Drake song somewhere in the midst. You’re welcome.
The recently released compilation soundtrack includes collaborations from Popcaan and Quada on the track, Billions, and Baja and Giggs in “My Town. The album also features contributions by Nafe Smallz, Fredo, Headie One, M Huncho, Youngs Tefflon, SL, AJ Tracey, Avelino, Teeway and Ghettos.
The new project contains 17 awesome jams including the Drake song, Behind Barz. The track is added as a bonus to the project. It was originally released after the rapper’s Scorpion album. The newly repackaged track is a studio version of the original, but the beat remains the same on this one.
Top Boy was a big series in the UK a few years back. After about two seasons, it got cancelled in 2013. Drake, who stumbled on it on YouTube was shocked to find that it had been cancelled and made efforts to bring it back. Well, if you’re one of the biggest artists of your generation, that’s bound to happen. A third season was filmed for the series with the rapper coming on as an executive producer. Speaking at the premiere, he said that people’s opinions against him pushing for the series’ continuation inspired the new season.
