Just a month ago, American rappers, Rick Ross, DMX and producer Swizz Beatz released their song, Just In Case as a soundtrack for the new series Godfather of Harlem. The song is composed anf produced by Swizz who also sings the chorus while the others rap the verses.
The three artists have now dropped a new cinematic video for the track. The new visual is set in the 1960s and also features a cameo from Forest Whitaker, who also stars in the new show. The video is directed by DAPS.
Godfather of Harlem is an American crime drama set to premiere on Epix on Sept. 29, 2019. The upcoming series is written by Chris Brancato (who is expected to act as showrunner) and Paul Eckstein.
The series stars Forest Whitaker who acts as an executive producer alongside the aforementioned writers. Nina Yang Bongiovi, James Acheson, John Ridley and Markuanna Smith are also executive producers of the show.
The upcoming show is a drama set in the 1960s which tells the true story of an infamous crime Lord, Bumpy Johnson (played by Whitaker) who finds the neighborhood he once lived in in shambles when he returns from jail 10 years later. To regain control of the streets for the Italian mob (who are now in charge) he must take on the Genovese crime family.
Ilfenesh Hadera, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Nigél Thatch, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Lucy Fry, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Giancarlo Esposito also star in the upcoming series.
