Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee has just added to her long list of fine songs with the recent release of a new track titled “Moyo,” which follows right behind a features appearance on Jux‘s “Sumaku.“
Jux is said to be her lover, by the way. A recent osculatory display on stage may confirm this after all. Anyway, back to the music.
Vanessa Mdee, fondly called Vee Money, is a singer, rapper and also a television personality who combines these offices remarkably well. However, it is as a singer that she is better known. Her output is impressive too.
With a long list of collaborative works and a fine thread of personal releases, it is clear she isn’t doing badly. She had featured on Chege‘s “Manjegeka” and replicated the same role brilliantly on Adekunle Gold‘s “Before You Wake Up (Remix).“
Her musical adventure has seen her co-opt gqom revolutionaries Distruction Boyz, DJ Tira and Prince Bulo on a track titled “That’s for Me.” This was exactly two months after she picked Nigeria’s Reekado Banks for “Bambino,” an explosive number to this day.
Her new track “Moyo” is an invitation to hear the truth she knows and wants to share.
Vanessa Mdee, the first Tanzanian MTV VJ, faced severe criticism for the salacious scenes in the music video of the single “Wet,” which she released in collaboration with fellow Tanzanian and Weusi member G Nako.
Well, criticism or not, Vanessa Mdee hasn’t slackened pace, and given her current form, it is safe she has got even hotter stuff in the pipeline
