With the release of the rack “10 Bands” and not an album in sight, one may well say Joyner Lucas has been too long a tease. In the fall of 2018 the Massachusetts rapper had told the world of a body of work he was readying for the public, titled “ADHD.”
Well, we’re already into the second half of 2019 and there’s no “ADHD” in sight. We get to listen to, instead, another single. “10 Bands,” which features Timbaland follows behind a handful of tracks from the forthcoming album.
“10 Bands” is a product of Joyner Lucas’s communication with fans. He’s asked his fans if they’ve ever wondered what he’d sound like over a Timbaland beat, the responses were mixed, with a common string of affirmation running through most of them. The collab is here, and the affirmation back then is beginning to transform to purrs of pleasure.
This shouldn’t be surprising given the sheer force and appeal of the track itself, a track that might see you desiring the letters of amity, wanting to get things right with those who’ve crossed you at some point.
Joyner Lucas’s and Timbaland’s collaborative effort should make for a grand weekend, away from the drab and the boring. More than that it should keep the eyes of fans open for “ADHD.” If the album should drop right now, it won’t lack fans, for several fine jams have cleared the path for its coming. Yet we wait.
