With heightened anticipation for his upcoming album, The Lost Tapes 2, American rapper, Nas has dropped a new single to create more buzz. The new track which features Grammy-winning singer, Al Jarreau and veteran trumpeter, Keyon Harrold is a taste of what’s to come.
The son of Jazz musician, Olu Dara, Nas is an undisputed icon in the rap game. Having sold over 30 million records worldwide, the rapper has released eight consecutive platinum and multi platinum albums. NAS’s debut album Illmatic received universal acclaim from both critics and hip hop lovers. The album is currently ranked one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.
Ranked 5th in MTV‘s list of “The Greatest MCs of All Time” and 2nd on The Source’s “Top 50 Lyricists of All Time” the rapper is a living icon. The new track, Jarreau of Rap (Skatt Attack) references featured icon, Al Jarreau and references his accomplishments as compared to Nas‘s in Hip Hop. The song is a bit fast paced and sees Nas rapping over instrumentals laced with Jarreau’s vocals.
