It’s been an amazing year watching versatile American artist, Vic Mensa’s drop a string of dope songs and feature artists we never figured he would. Some of the songs he’s released recently have either seen him as the lead or a featured act. When Mensa isn’t singing about women, he’s talking about social injustice all over the world, including where he’s from.
The newly released song, Let U Know follows some of his previous releases this year including Camp America, Falling Asleep at the Wheel with The Rubens, 3 Years sober with 93PUNX. Let U Know features Jesse Rutherford lead singer of the American band, The Neighborhood.
The song has been released ahead of their upcoming joint tour, Head & Tails U.S. Tour which is scheduled to kick off later this month in Pomona, California. The song is a hip hop track which starts off like an R&B song before the beats come in and send it to an energy packed rhythm. The lyrics of the song talk about proving your worth to someone who left you. At one point, Keyshia Cole is called out by Mensa for wanting tickets to see his show after she turned him down.
Mensa announced track’s release via his Instagram account on Thursday with the snippet of the song and accompanying message;
“‘Let U Know’ Friday, w/@jesserutherford…link in bio”
Their upcoming tour begins on Aug. 22 in Pomona, California, and will include stops in Denver, Dallas, Houston, Boston and end in New York on September, 14th. He also made this known of his Instagram.
