Lil Baby and DaBaby release video for their collaborative single, Baby.
Quality Control has got a huge project on the way, the label’s second official studio album, Control The Streets Volume II is scheduled for release on the 16th of August. The hip hop label has released a ton of singles in anticipation for the upcoming album and DaBaby‘s Baby featuring Lil Baby is one of those released singles. The track dropped some time in July, and now, the label follows up with an official video for the joint.
The new visual is quite entertaining and takes a few pages from the Brian De Palma directed hit movie, Scarface. The video for Baby is directed by Daps and was shot in Miami, Florida. The new video is inspired by the Scarface movie and sees both DaBaby and Lil Baby replaying one of the movie’s infamous scenes.
The new video starts off showing DaBaby working in a restaurant and obviously the manager’s arch enemy. A disgruntled DaBaby is threatened with the loss of his job if he faults again, and surprisingly gets a job offer few seconds later by a customer which he jumps to. At some point in the video, both rappers replay the infamous motel scene in Scarface with DaBaby playing Tony Montana and Lil Baby as the Lothario (he nearly gets him killed).
The video marks the second time DaBaby references the classic film in his video. He previously did so in the video for his collab with Pony. The song, Baby is included in the 36-song tracklist for Control The Streets Volume II scheduled to drop in a few days.
