JPEGMAFIA‘s new song is Jesus Forgive Me, I Am A Thot might come with a very striking title but it is quite the masterpiece. The New York City rapper delivers an incredible performance on the track and also manages to show off his vocals while rapping to the song’s impressive beat.
Born, Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks but popularly called JPEGMAFIA, JPEG is an American rapper, and a record producer born to Jamaican parents. He was born in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and served a tour of duty in Iraq, etc before being honorable discharged. He became drawn to music while in the military, and began producing after learning how to sample.
JPEGMAFIA previously became popular while in Japan as part of a group, Ghostpop (which was formed by him). The group was popular in Tokyo after which JPEG left for the United Stated. The rapper has released quite a number of mixtapes, and released his debut studio album, Black Ben Carson via Deathbomb Arc in February of 2016.
After dropping his second album, Veteran in 2018, his popularity grew as the album received acclaim from various music critics. JPEG has received praise from various music sites including Pitchfork, The Fader and Stereogum since the release of the album. His newest song follows his last released track, The Who which dropped earlier in the year as a single from the critically acclaimed album. The song featured Eyas. The new song is exciting to hear as JPEG raps beautifully to the song’s beat while also showing his vocals can do more than just rap.
