Born, Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks but popularly called JPEGMAFIA, JPEG is an American rapper, and a record producer born to Jamaican parents. He was born in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and served a tour of duty in Iraq, etc before being honorable discharged. He became drawn to music while in the military, and began producing after learning how to sample.

After dropping his second album, Veteran in 2018, his popularity grew as the album received acclaim from various music critics. JPEG has received praise from various music sites including Pitchfork, The Fader and Stereogum since the release of the album. His newest song follows his last released track, The Who which dropped earlier in the year as a single from the critically acclaimed album. The song featured Eyas. The new song is exciting to hear as JPEG raps beautifully to the song’s beat while also showing his vocals can do more than just rap.
