The wait is finally over as EDM producer Diplo drops his much-anticipated collaboration with Morgan Wallen titled “Heartless.” The country project is released under his real name Thomas Wesley.
Seems like the world-famous music producer and DJ it trying out a new genre as there hasn’t been much country related production from him in the past until recently when Wesley released “So Long” featuring Cam, which was performed at this year’s Stagecoach festival. His attendance at the festival was his first ever country major event as “Thomas Wesley.”
“Heartless” was released in the midnight of Friday August 16, the new song is a blend of country and electronic music and words from the song paints a picture of a sour relationship where one is putting in much effort but the other is not totally committed, hence the title “Heartless.”
“But why you gotta be so heartless / I know you think it’s harmless / You’re tearing me apart and / Girl, the hardest part is / You’re so high on attention / You’re taking miles for inches / Leave me in the darkness / Never finish what we started / Girl, why you gotta be so heartless /Why you gotta be so heartless,” Wallen sings in the chorus.
In addition to his new adventure on country music category, Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978) is known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ, songwriter, and record producer based in Los Angeles, California. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD, with Sia and Labrinth also working with producer and DJ Skrillex as part of the electronic duo Jack Ü, as well as on Silk City with Mark Ronson.
Morgan Wallen who is featuredon this song is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is signed to Big Loud Records and has released singles like “The Way I Talk”, “Up Down”, which features Florida Georgia Line, “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin’ You”.
