Featuring guitar over a snappy beat, the song is her first new project since “On A Roll,” which she performed as her Black Mirror character Ashley O, and the ‘She Is Coming‘ EP recently released.
The three-and-a-half minutes’ track of emotional self-reflection, is released less than a week after Miley‘s split with Liam Hemsworth, and the lyrics seem to reflect the struggles of her failed relationship, calling for a healthier, better life:
“I want my house in the hills/ Don’t want the whiskey and pills/ I don’t give up easily.” – she sings.
The recent split from her husband made headlines when it was announced that the duo is breaking up.
“Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.” – Hemsworth wrote in a statement about the breakup.
Meanwhile, before Hemsworth put out his comment, Cyrus had hinted about the release of ‘Slide Away‘, tweeting out a photo of herself in a studio, standing in front of a microphone and wearing headphones.
