Skepta Releases His Remix of Pop Smoke’s “Welcome To The Party”: Listen

by Florence Tolulope

British grime MC, rapper, and songwriter, Skepta shares his own version of the remix of Pop Smoke‘s hit new single “Welcome To The Party”.

The new remix, produced by UK-based producer, 808Melo, is coming after Nicki Minaj recently released her own remix of the track, which dropped last week. It is rumoured that Meek Mill & French Montana are also working on their remixes.

Skepta’s line on the remix hits hard, sounding right at home.

“I ain’t never seen you on the strip / Never ever had the pebs in your mouth / Never ever had a tool in the whip / Had heavy metal like a bench press / It’s a waste of time sendin’ death threats,” Skepta raps.

Becoming one of the hottest new records in the country, the original song has got over 8 million views on Youtube. The video was shot in a DIY manner similar to Chief Keef’s earlier videos, like “John Madden” and “Do It For My Town,”. The original song visual retains a raw texture, showing the exciting burgeoning artist as the focal point of his crew’s parties.
