American rapper, DaBaby is almost one of the most featured artists this year. So much so we hardly think about his own solo singles except his huge hit, Suge of course. The rapper has over a short while contributed to a lot of tracks by other artists this year, including the remix to Lizzo‘s hit song, Truth Hurts.
The rapper has now dropped a new solo track, Intro and it’s as introspective as you’d expect. The rapper didn’t even promote the new track, he merely just released it online and let us all go crazy for it. Which we did.
On the song, continuing with the flow we were introduced to on “Baby On Baby“, he opens up about his family and talks about his loved ones. We must say, it’s a really personal song, on which the rapper details his family life and the people who matter to him. He also raps about how his success has affected their lives. He raps;
“I got the number one record, they acknowledged the gent / They going crazy when they hear it, head-bobbing and shit / And I’m just somewhere fucked up thinking ’bout my father and shit”
He has a new album, Kirk on the way. In a recent interview, he revealed that it will be dropping before the end of the year. No particular date has been set for the album’s release. The project’s title is inspired by his legal name. Speaking to 16Bars, he said about the name “It’s all about confidence and being a leader”. Intro is the first single off the upcoming album.
