Jamaican dancehall sensation is on a marathon of musical deliveries and his latest episode his titled “5 Bills.” This effort comes on the heels of “Goals,” which dropped last week and which continues to buzz across playlists. Popcaan whose real name is Andrae Hugh Sutherland has been unrelenting with his efforts at cracking the mainstream North American audience.
His consistency looks to have helped him achieve this feat in the past campaign with such efforts as “Forever” and “Where We Come From,” appealing to US fans and music lovers. Well, he still looks to hold a determination not to get carried away with the successes with such terrific run of weekly releases.
Only thing is the fact that “5 Bills” comes from a deeper place in Popcaan’s heart as he drops this one in response to the fake friends and the haters. Having lost his childhood friend, Unruly Shagel in a home invasion at his mansion in Kingston in December while overseas, there has been several criticism and accusations directed at the “Firm and Strong” mastermind.
Unfortunately, the case remains unsolved and even though Popcaan looks to still mourn and grief for his friends, he looks to have been touched by those pointing accusing fingers. Yet he remains unperturbed; using his most powerful tool of music as a response to these attacks on his person.
Though deep and powerful, “5 Bills” still packs the dancehall vibe as well as a glittering overall you do not want to pass on. Simply cop a dose, then be sure to share your thoughts and opinion in the comments section below.
