Katy Perry is back on the music front as she comes through with a new song titled “Never Really Over” to send the industry into an excited mode. The over 27 million Youtube views since the song was uploaded three days ago point to a wide reception.
Produced by Zedd, this new song is touted as her best since “Walking On Air” grabbed attention in 2013 and is expected to be her turning a new page since the ill-fated “Witness” album of 2017 that had a lot of music fans scratching their heads wondering what the heck she was doing.
This new song isn’t going for deep or trying to make any political statement or even make any stand. It is Katy Perry back to the form she was known for. Her handlers must have realized by now that making political statements or going for depth isn’t really her thing and are back to familiar territory with “Never Really Over”.
“Never Really Over” has Katy Perry singing about love, but not in the cliche way. Here, she sings about online stalking of the one she loves and how she can’t come online without checking him out. She definitely impressed on this one and her fans will be able to heave a sigh of relief.
The new song also came with a music video directed by Philippa Price and may just be the first step in Katy Perry‘s return to her former self and we recommend listening to it. To enjoy the new song, stream here and let’s know what you think in the comments section.
