There’s some incredibly comic about the baby affair we have in hand, Jamz’s track titled “Baby Shower.” Both featured artistes have “baby” as part of their adopted stage names, and so does the track itself. But is this coincidental? Certainly not.
Call it an experimental gamble and you come close to unravelling the mystery of this “baby party” (apologies to F. Scott Key Fitgerald). It is wholly Jamz’s initiative though, and, as it turns out, one that is incredibly poetic, engaging on all levels and poised to remain so beyond the first listen.
Lil Baby and DaBaby are both American rappers and the similarity of their names have led to suggestions and even outright demand the pair should collaborate. And although they have both rocked America’s music scene in solo capacities, this has not happened. Jamz resolved that by bringing the pair together.
It is a triumph not just for Jamz but a triumph of the jocund spirit as well. The cover art, for instance, shows “baby” Jamz, Lil Baby and DaBaby on the grounds of what would pass for a nursery.
In the end, fortunately, what is served is truly exciting, no some mushy baby bars. Indeed “babies” can give birth and to bouncy “adults” too. “Baby Shower” has got all the evidence you may need.
