GoldLink – Joke Ting ft. Ari PenSmith

by Ayodeji Lateef

American rapper, GoldLink is back with a new song titled “Joke Ting”, a song that came along with the announcement of a soon to be released album titled “Diaspora”.

This new song is the first track he is releasing from the project having released “Got Muscle” with Peewee Longway and “Zulu Screams” with Maleek Berry and Bibi Bourelly in the past and he featured Ari PenSmith on this new song.

The coming project is expected to be released sometime this month, June 12 to be precise and will have GoldLink in his natural element, rapping his heart out about the things that bother him and if this title is stuck to theme-wise, we may just be seeing him flinging some shots at some diaspora ways.

GoldLink first caught attention in 2014 when he came through with his debut mixtape titled “The God Complex” which got a lot of attention and praise. He quickly followed it with “And After That, We Didn’t Talk” in 2015 with singles like “Dance on Me” and “Spectrum” making it an even juicier project.

When 2017 came, he was ready with his debut album titled “At What Cost” with “Crew” one of the standout songs on the project peaking at no 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart and there has sincerely been no slowing down for him ever since.

The song saw him sing: “I only roll with my day ones, No apron, but my n—–, they will cook you (Yeah)
Don’t let it be you, ‘Cause my whole squad on swole, you don’t wanna get involved, Get close, you might choke, we ain’t on a joke ting” and together with PenSmith, they made magic happen with the song.
