Calm the F down is the message Taylor Swift has for her trolls and bullies as she comes through with this new one titled “You Need To Calm Down” and already, it has already generated talking points – as expected from any Taylor Swift song. This new song though is one of the tracks off her forthcoming “Lover” project and she dedicated and wrote this for and to trolls who bully her online and offline.
There have already been speculations though about who exactly she was referring to in the song. Some say some part of the song is directed at US President, Donald Trump which would kind of make sense since she released this on his birthday. Another angle is that she had a word for her former friend, Karlie Kloss who played the Kcockout character in the “Bad Blood” music video as she said if she had anything to say, she should say it to her face.
The first verse of the song though is definitely for online trolls who she accused of copping out. The particular line went “Say it in the street, that’s a knockout / But you say it in a tweet, that’s a cop-out.”
But hey, some fans are saying this may not be directed at internet trolls in general but at Kim Kardashian with whom she had a beef in 2016 and who went right ahead to subtweet her with a snake emoji but we may never know unless she tells us.
