It’s a beautiful love song from singer, Gallant as he drops “Sharpest Edges”, one of the songs expected to light up his forthcoming album scheduled to be released soon. Produced by Stint, this new song is the first single from the “Gentleman” rapper in a while now and signals that his sophomore album is almost here.
Speaking about the making of the song and his fight with depression, Gallant said: “I had problems with depression for a long time. Even though you get to choose your own outlook on life, it’s hard sometimes to ignore the bad shit, mistakes you made or the things you could have done better. It’s easier to admit that the world is full of sharp edges—and to make it a goal to have as many close calls as you can.”
This song, beautiful and all is a love song but when looked at closely, can also be seen as a song through which Gallant finally voices out about his demons and how getting close to that loved one helps.
“… You’re broken in places that don’t see the light / But that doesn’t stop me from spending the night / You got the sharpest edges I’ve ever seen /And every time my hands get careless, you make me bleed / I’m cut up, down and in between / Cuz you got the sharpest edges I’ve ever seen / Don’t hurt me” is the perfect line that shows this.
This song is in good company and joins other top songs like “Weight in Gold”, “Cave Me In”, “Open Up”, “Talking To Myself” and more that Gallant has released in the past and we recommend listening to it.
